"Passages that demand ensemble precision were flawlessly balanced, perfectly tuned and sheathed in lustrous textures." - The New York Times

The Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet garnered international acclaim in 2005, winning the Concert Artists Guild Competition as well as the Grand Prix and Mozart Prize at the Bordeaux (formerly Evian) International String Quartet Competition. It is the ensemble's recent collaboration with the poets of With Our Words, however, that leads us to add sweetbriar, the flower of poetry, to our bouquet.

Kikuei Ikeda was second violinist of the Tokyo String Quartet for nearly 40 years. His many prizes include those of the Mainichi, NHK, Haken, and Vianna da Motta competitions.

Program:

  • Beethoven—String Quartet in B-flat Major, Op. 18, No. 6
  • Ades—Arcadiana, Op. 12
  • Dvořák—String Quintet in E-Flat Major, Op. 97
