  Honoring Alice Coleman's articulated "desire to be identified with the musical growth of my childhood home, Pasadena," Coleman"s Meet the Musicians program provides classroom preparation coupled with exciting musical experiences for hundreds of children in Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley schools each year.

With this initiative helping to inspire tomorrow's audiences and the Competition helping to launch young artists' careers, Coleman actively fosters the future of chamber music while it celebrates its past and present.

The Meet the Musicians artist for the 08/09 season will be the Glendale-based Avanti String Quintet. Members include Tamsen Beseke and Carrie Kennedy on violins, Kaila Potts on viola, and Fang Fan Xu on cello.
